Impasto Pablo-Cubist Tiki

Bit of a backstory to this.

If you are not familiar with the richmond area or the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts(VMFA), them you might not have heard of the Pablo Picasso exhibit they have had for the past couple of months [link]

So anyway, my mom gets me an annual membership to VMFA for my birthday(my mom's just cool like that). And having that membership allows me to see the Picasso exhibit for free. So I go nearly every other week, just soaking it all in. After one trip, I take out my sketchpad and draw a prototype for the painting. All angrily angular and whatnot, and it just sticks in my mind......

I get some canvas, do a rough under-painting, put a colored ground on it, slather on some thick paint(thanks to Golden's extra-heavy gel) and here we are.
