okay, so here's a more close grouping of my entry [link] into the Cute Monster design contest [link]
So yes, I've made Death a cartoon girl with talking kawaiiesque symbols of death as her friends-The Mortality Pals!!
Mori Memento being a play on this term of course [link]
Lines done in Illustrator, colored in Photoshop.
I almost included a kawaii coffin and gravestone, but that would have been a little too morbid for something directed at children(yeah, as if what I got so far isn't dark enough)
Anyway, drawing from my love of drawing cute sugar skulls, I found making a cute little grim reaper really fun. And of course the franchise potential is limitless!!! It's like Dora the Explorer for goths or kids who are big into Nietzsche and meditations into death(yeah right, like there's a difference).
