VeraCruz Sedan '36

Kind of the last one in my HotRod series, at least for a little while. Really more burnt out on painting cars right now. Seeing as I was painting cars like crazy for my upcoming show[link]

Thought I would go for an oldie but a goodie. I think the car was a buick or a pontiac. All I know is that the reference photo was old and had no caption except 1936 so make of it what you will. The stamp motif was originally from Tlatilco, but seeing as that was already taken for my beetle pic [link] I checked my handy ancient mexico design ref book to find a cooler name , and thus we have VeraCruz.

I originally planned for a bigger painting, 24x36. Hot pink, and not just a car, but an honest-to-god Semi truck, something massively masculine decked out in the fruitiest of colors Alas it was too much to complete in time for the show, but still I'll have it in the back of my mind. One day tho, it will be sweet I promise you.
